Important change to GCISD Calendar for March 7

GCISD’s 2011-2012 Early Release Calendar shows March 7, 2012, as a day when high school students are dismissed early after completion of the Texas Assessment of Knowledge and Skills (TAKS). Students in 10th and 11th grades will still take the English/Language Arts TAKS on March 7; that day, however, is no longer an early release day and a modified schedule will be in place for all students, including those in grades 9 and 12.

  • Attention Juniors!

Juniors, are you considering taking dual enrollment classes this summer or next fall?  If so, the last two dual parent/student meetings are a must!  February 29th, students can come to the lecture hall at 8:00am or 4:00pm (sharp) to hear all about the dual enrollment options.  These meetings are mandatory if you want to enroll in dual classes for your senior year.  Students are required to attend one of these meetings, or one of the other 6 meetings, that have been offered this spring.    This program is not right for everyone, but it may be right for you!  Please do not miss your chance to hear more about the dual program.

  • Attention Seniors:

Updated senior transcripts will be delivered to English classes for distribution on Monday.

If a student needs to send a mid year report to a college or university that student must come down to the counseling office to fill out a transcript form.  This is a busy time for colleges so come down and fill out the forms as soon as possible to get the forms sent to the correct universities in a timely manner.

You can check the college web site if  you are unsure if a new transcript needs to be sent.  All seniors will get a transcript sent to the university of their choice at the end of the year.

    Questions?  See your counselor.
