Mrs. Hamilton has enjoyed working with boys and girls as a teacher for 30 years. She began teaching in Everman ISD where she taught 6th grade for 5 years. She has taught in GCISD for 25 years and been the gifted specialist at Grapevine Elementary for 10 years.
Mrs. Hamilton graduated from The University of North Texas with her degree in secondary education and received her elementary certification fromThe University of Texas at Arlington. She earned her certification in gifted education from Hardin-Simmons University. She is extremely proud of being recognized as a campus Teacher of the Year and receiving the Award of Excellence in Education from the GCISD. Her work in social studies with elementary students was recognized by the Texas Council for Social Studies. Mrs. Hamilton is married and has two children. She enjoys having fun with her 3 grandsons and her granddaughter. Also, she likes reading, the theatre, arts and crafts, and traveling. She loves hiking in the mountains and sailing on the "Tall Ships" out of Boston. Baseball is her favorite sport, and her favorite team is "The Chicago Cubs".
She enjoys raising funds to support the American Heart Association, the American Cancer Society, and Hugworks. Hugworks is a charity that brings music to children who are hospitalized.
